Accountability is not only Financial in Nature but also involves regular briefing of Progress made, Challenges encountered and charting a way Forward. It is in light of these,that we will do justice to the aforesaid.
ACADEMICS : We are all aware that there was mass failure in the 13/14 graduating set. This was of immense worry to us putting into cognisance the fact that we were just inaugurated at the time. We were also aware that Senate Special waiver was abolished immediately before our Regime. It looked like there was no hope was on the horizon but we summoned courage and the Union under the Able Leadership of Olajumoke Olawale Politically referred to as Holla Holla started the process of lobbying all the Members of senate starting with the Vice Chancellor, DVCs, Dean of Students Affairs, College Deans, Directors, HODs and all Professors. In the End,Victoria was Ascerta and the University Senate allowed students with 30 and above to Graduate successfully. This was no easy feat. The academic future of more than 900 students was thus Secured by the Union.
We have also ensured that important lecture halls be opened at night to facilitate better reading and consequent academic performance.
TRANSPORT : The Holla Holla Led executives also met with the public transport workers and a Directive was Issued by the Union that Only 3 passengers should be allowed to sit in the Middle Row of Cabsters at no extra cost. This is designed to ensure Maximum comfort for our beloved Students. Also,Stickers have been given out to public vehicles so as to enable proper Identification for Safety of the students.
SOCIALS : The 1st ever Freshers' Orientation week was Held. This was to integrate the Newly Admitted students and members of the Students Union Properly into the System. Artistes Like JAYWON and ADOL among others were on ground to thrill the Students.
In the same Vein,the FUNAABSU IMAGINE Cinemas was also Re-launched.
The 1st Ladies conference was Held at the Postgraduate
Auditorium with the theme Transformational Leadership ;
Does Gender Matter?
This was held to address the gender questions in Leadership.
INTERVENTIONS : According to our Last count, we have rescued a total number of 83 Students from Police Net at Obantoko, Osiele and Eleweran Police Stations. We Remain Undaunted in this task but advise students to shun Social vices.
School Fees and Registration : We have Successfully facilitated Extension of Deadline of School fees Payment and Registration Deadline. We are currently working on Furthering the Extension because we are not oblivious of the Austerity measures and the Harsh economic Reality in the Nigerian State.
Our Greatest concern is the Water Problem in Marble Lodge but we are Working Assiduously with relevant Management Parastatals and Officials to find a Lasting Solution to this Bohemian Problem.
